Prophet Betty J. Bigesby, Senior Pastor
Pastor Betty Bigesby is a native of Washington, DC. She is a gifted Apostolic Prophet, whom the Lord has raised up in these last days to help to prepare a people who are ready for the return of the Lord; to shine light on their darkness that they may be able to understand and walk in His ways and to establish the Kingdom of God here on earth.
She is the Senior Pastor of the Jubilee Worship Center in Chesapeake Beach, MD. She gave her heart to the Lord in 1975 and immediately, the Holy Spirit began to train her for ministry. She has assisted other ministers, ministries, pastors and community groups in developing and training leaders. She has taught and trained her members to search the scriptures and understand the keys of the bible that unlocks the truths of God’s Word to the degree that as they minister, (wherever the find themselves), to others they are inevitably asked the question, How do you know these things? And the answer that is usually given is that our Pastor taught us.
The Holy Spirit has anointed Pastor Bigesby to teach such revelation from the Word of God that it challenges the hearers to come out of their sphere of complacency and accept the challenge to know their God and to walk in His ways. Her “Transformation Seminars” have literally done just that, transformed the lives of the saints of God by teaching them who they are, identifying their gifts and talents and teaching them the pattern and the progression of God’s Kingdom, through His Word. She has ministered these same principles in men and women’s shelters, in churches, retreats, seminars, conferences and at Strive DC and witnessed the impact of these truths on the lives of the hearers as they received this revelation and came out of lives filled with despair and hopelessness; became productive members of society, experienced reconciliation in their relationships and started businesses and ministries of their own. She has been greatly used by the Holy Spirit to minister in women’s classes, seminars and retreats to bring liberation to women of every denomination as she instructs them in the Word of God for their lives and their families. She has ministered throughout the U.S., Jamaica and Africa. In Africa the Holy Spirit used her to bring reform to an area in West Africa that had not accepted women ministries, but afterwards started their first women’s ministry and invited her back as the first conference speaker.
While a member of the National Church of God in Ft. Washington, MD. under Dr. T. L. Lowery, God used her to give birth to the youth ministry there called “Powerhouse” and she continued as the Assistant Pastor of that ministry, where the lives of youths that previously had no direction in life began to change and take shape as they transformed into disciples of the Lord. Many are now in ministry and are helping to change the lives of others for the better. She later, at Dr. Lowery’s request, assisted him in establishing “The Ladies in Leadership” women’s ministry and was the Co-Director. She experienced how God transformed the church for the better using this “army of women” who gave their hearts and lives to this ministry. She was the former Chairwoman of the PENIEL Ministries Adopt-A-Resident Advisory Board under the leadership of Drs. Harold and Marion Spellman in Johnstown, Pa. This team raised funds for this worthwhile cause and helped to make the public aware that there was such a place to send their love ones for substance abuse deliverance.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies, from Grace Bible College and Seminary. She is a certified trainer of the Personalities, a course taught by Florence and Marita Littauer, a certified trainer of Ministering Spiritual Gifts, a course offered by Bishop Bill Hamon of Christian International Ministries in Florida and a certified trainer of The Motivational Gifts, a course taught by Katie & Don Fortune. Pastor Bigesby is the senior pastor of The Jubilee Worship Center in Chesapeake Beach, MD. and the founder and C.E.O. of U.N.I.T.E. (Umbrella of Nations Inspiring Total Enrichment) Ministries, Inc., a Community Development Corporation in Dunkirk, MD. These ministries are committed to helping to bring Apostolic Reform to the Body of Christ by teaching and training the saints how to minister not only in the pulpit but also in the marketplace.
Though many have poured into her life, she was mentored by Dr. T.L. Lowery of The National Church of God in Ft. Washington, Md., and Bishop Corletta Vaughn of Go Tell It Ministries in Detroit Michigan. She and the ministry are in submission to Bishop John L.Meares, Bishop Emeritus of Evangel Cathedral and Bishop Carrie Surratts of The Lord’s Church of Restoration, both in Maryland. Pastor Bigesby has gleaned much understanding as she has submitted to these and other “Generals of the Faith” and she has not neglected to give herself to intense study of the Word of God as she sits at His feet to learn about her Heavenly Father and His Kingdom.
Pastor Bigesby and her husband of 35 years Derek Bigesby, Sr. are the proud parents of four children, Michael, Derek Jr., Nicole and David, and the proud grandparents of seven. They reside in Friendship, Md. Her husband Derek is by far her strongest supporter, partner and co-laborer in this ministry. It is there intention to see “God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
